Listen Up! Vermont

Listen Up! Vermont was the inaugural project of the Green Mountain Library Consortium. This project initially joined together over 80 public and school libraries in Vermont to provide downloadable audio book service through OverDrive.

Downloadable audio books allow patrons to access a collection any time, and from anywhere, of titles chosen for the Consortium by a selection committee, currently comprised of Kip Roberson, coordinator, Pierson Library, Shelburne; Maria Forman, Twinfield Union High School, Plainfield;  Joan Lajoie, Richmond Public Library; Sarah Mellowship, The Putney School; and Nancy Tusinski, Springfield Town Library.

Listen Up! Vermont works with both PCs and Macs. IPod users have access to a collection of over 100 mp3-formatted titles, a collection which is frequently growing. Non-iPod mp3 players should be able to access our entire collection.

Any patron from a member library may access the collection by visiting http://www.listenupvermont.org. Librarians, staff, and trustees of participating libraries (or from libraries interested in participating) may like to keep up with the project by visiting the Listen Up! Vermont blog at http://vtaudiobooks.blogspot.com/.

MARC records are available for member libraries to load into their individual library catalogs.
