A reminder about Recorded Books

The busy travel season is the perfect time to promote your downloadable audio collections — but in that promotion, please do not forget to directly link your patrons from your website or on your promotional materials to the Recorded Books One Click log in page, skipping the step of asking patrons to go to http://gmlc.wordpress.com/recorded-books/. The information here on the GMLC pages is directed to librarians, rather than patrons, and it may prove confusing for visitors.

You can get your direct link to the login page from the page linked above. Find your library on the list, click on it, and copy the URL in your address bar to use as the link. For example, Stowe’s is:

http://kite.middlebury.edu/login?auth=stowe&url=http://www.netlibrary.com

If you do not have a website or unable to directly link off your website to your login URL, or if you need a shorter URL for bookmarks or other promotional pieces, use http://www.netlibrary.com/, and direct patrons to click on the EZproxy SSO users, log in here message. You can also use that URL, http://www.netlibrary.com/EZproxy/login.aspx. Your library will be listed in the pull-down menu. Your patrons will be directed to the page linked above, where they must log in.
